The key ingredient in REGEN is amniotic membrane which contains 120+ growth factors including fibroblast growth factors, hepatocyte growth factors, and keratinocyte growth factors to name a few, as well as 400+ cytokines. The layers of amniotic membrane that we use are rich in collagen types |||, |V, V, and V|| which attribute to the proliferation of cellular repair, collagen growth, tissue healing, and prevention of inflammation or scarring. All PRP is not created equal. The quality and amount extracted is different for each person. The presence, type and amount of white blood cells (called leukocytes) can also vary. Not having the correct type and amount of white blood cells can cause a negative reaction,
due to the aggressive nature of some of these “first responder” cells when an injury is present.
When using amnion, not only can we control what is being applied to the skin, it also operates differently. Since amnion is the placental membrane it is the most potent source of the healthy cells we want to use. For example, it has over 30 types of collagen. By age 50 you only have 8 types of collagen. We are able to take those same growth factors and apply them topically to the skin. When using PRP you are only able to utilize those 8 types remaining. Amnion also has the perfect pH for the skin, while PRP does not. on, making Microneedling safe on all skin types. Furthermore, because Microneedling does not damage or remove the top layer of skin, scarring and adverse side effects are unlikely.
